When a code doesn't work

Why a coupon might not apply — and what to try next.

We hand-verify codes and track which ones work at checkout, so dead codes get pruned fast. But codes can still fail for reasons outside our control. Here's why — and what to do.

Common reasons a code fails

  • It expired. The store ended the offer. Check the deal's expiry, and look for a newer code on the same store.
  • The cart is below the minimum. Many money-off codes need a minimum order first. Add enough to clear it, then reapply.
  • It's limited to certain items. Some codes only work on specific products, brands, or collections — not the whole store.
  • New customers or first order only. A few codes are limited to first-time shoppers.
  • One use per account. If you've used a code before, it may not work again.
  • Region or currency. Some offers only apply in certain countries.

What to try

  1. Re-copy the code and paste it exactly — no extra spaces.
  2. Make sure your cart meets any minimum and only includes eligible items.
  3. Try another live code for the same store — sort by Most Popular to find the one shoppers are using right now.
  4. Some deals are automatic and need no code — following the link applies the saving for you.
